Genealogy

In addition to the resources available in the Digital Library on this site, the Library maintains a genealogy room with many of the standard genealogical texts. Also available are specialized items on Middleboro history, including books about local families, census records and town directories from the previous century. We also provide access to the New England Historical and Genealogical Society resources on our Genealogy Room computer and to Ancestry.com on all of our public computers (access to these resources is not available at home.)

The Wilfred Silvia Genealogy Room is open to the public, however, its use is governed by the following rules:

  • Patrons must sign in at the Main Desk before using the Genealogy Room.
  • All Genealogy Room materials must remain within the room: Items may not be taken to other Library areas.
  • Much of this collection would be difficult or impossible to replace: Thank you for taking care with the collection.
