Register here and finish logging by August 21st for a chance to win one of 5 Grand Prizes and weekly ice cream giveaways. Kids entering 6th grade in the fall have their choice of completing the Children's or Teen program. Grand prize winners will be notified after September 1st. Everyone is encouraged to pick up prizes earned by September 10th.
School Summer Reading
Not sure what you're supposed to do for your school's summer reading or need materials? Stop in the Middleborough Public Library or call Amanda Meyer, Children's Librarian, at 508-946-2470.
Read to Help Others Level Up
Read to empower hospitalized children through video games as part of our Level Up summer reading theme, which is all about fostering empathy, friendship, and learning thorugh play and gaming.
The Rotary Club of Middleboro will donate up to $500 to Gamers Outreach, a charity that provides specialized portable video game kiosks—or GO Karts—to hospitals for children. Every hour you read will help to fund a GO Kart for a Massachusetts hospital. You have the power to make a positive change in a child's life just by reading! Help us to reach our reading goal of 9,000 hours (540,000 minutes) between the children's and teen programs to raise the full $500 towards a GO Kart.

Video games help to benefit hospitalized children by reducing stress and feelings of lonliness; offering social and emotional support; advancing physical heaing; and providing a sense of normalcy and joy. What counts as reading? Being read to, reading to someone, reading to yourself, audiobooks, podcasts, magazines, ebooks, graphic novels, and books from home. As long as you are enjoying stories it counts!
Virtual Tickets & Reading Prizes
Earn virtual badges and tickets by reading and completing activities. You get to choose which grand prizes you want to try to win with your virtual tickets. Everyone who reaches 8 hours of reading will get to choose another FREE book and everyone who reaches 16 hours will have the opportunity to put their name on a bookplate in a library book of their choice.
Read 30 hours or more to be entered into a special drawing for a Laser Maze Game as well as additional prizes. Read 40 hours or more and be entered to win a new book of your choice.

Once you have chosen the prize(s) you want to try to win, you must add the tickets to the drawings to be entered. You can add and subtract tickets from a drawing at any time up until 11:59 p.m. on August 21. Winners of the Grand Prize Drawing will be notified by the end of the month. One grand prize per participant.
Read for Ice Cream Weekly DrawingsFor nine weeks, we will run weekly drawings awarding a FREE ice cream coupon for Tom and Jimmy's Ice Cream to TWO lucky readers who have logged reading time that week (Sunday-Saturday). If you log your reading time regularly, you'll have more chances to win. One prize per participant.

Want the chance to win a prize from the Boston Bruins? Kids over 5 years of age who have logged at least 8 hours of summer reading in Beanstack have the chance to win a prize from the Boston Bruins. The only way to win is to join Summer Reading and log the time!
