Middleborough Public Library Book Clubs

Are you looking for something to read and not quite sure where to turn?

Consider joining one of the many book clubs in town, listed on our library’s calendar

Here is a listing of what is being offered.

Ellie and her Bookies:  This group has been our longest running book club and have been meeting since 2010!  They meet every 3rd Wednesday in the library from 6:30-8.  They do not meet during July, August or November.  They read a range of books, often relating to current events or points of interest.  Fiction, Non-Fiction and Biographies are all on the table for choices.  All are welcomed to join this engaging group!  You can come in on any of the 3rd Wednesdays, or contact Ellie Osborne via email: buzzellie88@aol.com for any questions.

Middleborough Council on Aging Book Club:  This group meets on the 1st Tuesdays of the month at the Council on Aging.  Readers can talk about the latest non-fiction book “Grandma Gatewood’s Walk: The Inspiring Story of the Woman Who Saved the Appalachian Trail by Ben Montgomery or another title of interest being selected by the group leader.  If you are interested in attending, please contact Kathy Medeiros at 508-946-2490 or kmedeiros@middleboroughma.gov   She will be happy to see you.

Mystery Lovers Book Club:  A great detective novel is something to really embrace.  If you have ever wanted a good book that keeps you guessing with a great group of people to discuss it with, then this group would be a nice fit for you.  They meet at the library on the 2nd Tuesdays of every month (except November) from 6:30-8.  If you would like to join this group, just show up on one of those Tuesdays or contact Ronnie Haywood at vhaywood689@gmail.com

Non-Fiction Book Club:  Are you a fan of nonfiction? Are you having a difficult time finding books that you love?  Join a new group at the library and we will share both great and not-so-great nonfiction reads as well as our opinions about them.  There is no “selected” title that each member reads. You choose your own book and can discuss it with the group if you’d like (there is no pressure and you aren’t required to discuss if you just want to listen).   Zoom in to the meeting if you aren’t able to attend in person.  Please contact our Reference/Adult Services Library Libby Fox at lfox@sailsinc.org or call 508-946-2470 for more information.

Oak Point Book Club:  This group of wonderful folks meets at Oak Point on the last Mondays of each month.  They have a wide range of book choices and are interested in many genres.  If you are interested in attending one of their meetings, please contact Gail Wershing via email at wershing@ptd.net.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club:  This is our newest book club and it will begin in September 2022.  Sci-Fi and fantasy lovers unite and will be meeting in the library on the 3rd Mondays of each month from 6:30-8:00.  There will be plenty to talk about and future title selections will be open for suggestion.  Please contact Judy Hall at hallandparsons@yahoo.com  for questions or points of interests.
