Research
Gale Research Databases for Teens
NOTE: Beginning July 1, 2025, Massachusetts residents will experience significant reductions in access to statewide research databases due to the elimination of federal funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), following Executive Order 14238.
The Gale Research Databases are part of the Statewide Databases which are free with geolocation or a library card to those who live, learn, and work in MA.
Reliable and authoritative information from academic journals, magazines, newspapers, ebooks, and more. Choose a subject-specific database or search multiple databases at once for full-text articles. Formatted citations in all the major citation styles are provided for every article.
- Not sure which database to choose? Start with Academic OneFile, a comprehensive database with articles across all disciplines.
- Also try High School Edition (Gale OneFile) for information on high school research topics plus pop culture, sports, and more
- You can also search Boston Globe (1872-1993) with a BPL card (see below) and New York Times Archives for articles from 1980-current.
